Tetrahydrofuran

Tetrahydrofuran (THF), also known as oxolane or 1,4-epoxybutane, is a heterocyclic organic compound with the chemical formula C4H8O. It belongs to the ether class and is the fully hydrogenated derivative of furan. It is an excellent solvent, particularly suitable for dissolving PVC, polyvinylidene chloride, and styrene-butadiene rubber. Widely used as a solvent in surface coatings, anti-corrosion coatings, printing inks, magnetic tapes, and film coatings, it allows for precise control of aluminum layer thickness and brightness when used in electroplating aluminum solutions.
