Potassium metaphosphate
A highly polymerized linear phosphate, possibly containing small amounts of cyclic potassium trimetaphosphate and cyclic tetrapotassium pyrophosphate. White or colorless crystals or fragments, sometimes appearing as white fibers or powder. Odorless, slowly soluble in water, with solubility depending on the polymer of the salt, typically 0.004%. Its aqueous solution is alkaline and soluble in ethanol.
