Primarily used in the production of plasticizers, extractants, stabilizers, and as an intermediate for solvents and fragrances. In the field of plasticizers, octanol generally refers to 2-ethylhexanol, which is a million-ton-scale bulk raw material and is far more valuable industrially than n-octanol. Octanol itself is also used as a fragrance, blending rose, lily, and other floral scents, serving as a soap fragrance. This product is approved as an edible flavoring agent under China's GB2760-86 standards. It is mainly used to formulate coconut, pineapple, peach, chocolate, and citrus flavors, and is employed as a surfactant, solvent, defoaming agent, industrial auxiliary, etc.
