Appearance: White or off-white amorphous powder. Almost odorless and tasteless. A natural polysaccharide derived from porcine or bovine intestinal mucosa or bovine lung. Hygroscopic. Easily soluble in water (200mg dissolves in 5ml water), soluble in saline solution, almost insoluble in ethanol, acetone, chloroform, and benzene.
Use: Biochemical research. Prevents the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin.
