Tetrachloroethylene can be added to aerosols, solvent soaps, printing inks, adhesives, sealants, polishes, lubricants, and silicone. Industries such as chemical plants, dry cleaning, textiles, and computer manufacturing, among others.
1. Tetrachloroethylene has a wide range of applications, primarily used as a metal degreasing solvent and also as an anthelmintic. It can serve as a fat extractant, fire extinguishing agent, and smoke screen agent, among other uses, and is also employed in the synthesis of trichloroethylene and fluorine-containing organic compounds.
2. Widely used as a dry cleaning agent for natural and synthetic fibers. Also used as a metal degreasing detergent, general solvent, and intermediate in organic synthesis.
3. Used as a standard substance for chromatographic analysis.
4. Employed as an insect repellent in adhesives, a fat extractant, and also in organic synthesis.
