Purpose
Monoethanolamine is an important corrosion inhibitor used in boiler water treatment, automotive engine coolants, drilling and cutting oils, and various other lubricants to prevent corrosion. However, monoethanolamine should not be compounded with nitrite-based corrosion inhibitors to prevent the formation of nitrosamine carcinogens.
