Tetrahydrofuran

Tetrahydrofuran (THF) is a colorless, water-miscible organic liquid with low viscosity at room temperature and pressure. The chemical formula of this cyclic ether can be written as (CH₂)₄O. Due to its wide liquid range, it is a commonly used medium-polarity aprotic solvent. Its primary use is as a precursor for high molecular weight polymers. Although THF's odor and chemical properties are similar, its effectiveness is rather poor.
