Triethylamine

Triethylamine, an organic compound systematically named N,N-diethylethanamine, is a colorless transparent liquid with a strong ammonia odor. It is soluble in water and ethanol, and its aqueous solution is weakly alkaline. It is highly irritating. Industrially, it is primarily used as a solvent, curing agent, catalyst, polymerization inhibitor, preservative, and for the synthesis of dyes.
