Kason

Isothiazolinone is a fungicide with the chemical formula C8H9ClN2O2S2, primarily composed of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (CIT) and 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (MIT). Isothiazolinone acts as a biocide by breaking the bonds of proteins in bacteria and algae. Upon contact with microorganisms, it rapidly and irreversibly inhibits their growth, leading to the death of microbial cells. Therefore, it exhibits strong inhibitory and bactericidal effects against common bacteria, fungi, algae, and other microorganisms.
