BYK-065 Defoamer is suitable for solvent-based formulations, including the following systems: chlorinated rubber, vinyl, acrylate, wood protection varnishes (based on long oil alkyd), industrial coatings (based on medium oil alkyd).
BYK-065 Additive is applicable in the coatings industry, anticorrosive and marine coatings, architectural coatings, wood and furniture coatings, adhesives (polyurethane adhesives, epoxy adhesives).
BYK-065 Defoamer can be added to the grinding material before grinding. If added at a later stage, sufficient high shear must be applied to ensure good dispersion of the defoamer and prevent cratering. The full effect of BYK-065 is achieved 24 hours after incorporation into the system.
The recommended dosage of BYK-065 Defoamer is 0.1-1%, based on the total formulation.
