Linear potentiometers are directly installed on the ribs, working in conjunction with triaxial accelerometers to measure lateral displacement and the Viscous Criterion (V*C). A cylindrical lumbar spine maintains the dummy's upright posture. The pelvis consists of a detachable rigid urethane iliac wing. On the impact side of the hip bone force sensor, a tightly fitted energy-absorbing rigid black plug is designed, enhancing test repeatability. Used in safety index protocols for side impact tests, installed on the side of the pelvis of dummies in both front and rear rows to monitor the injury values to the dummy's pelvis during real vehicle collision tests.
