n-Propanol

n-Propyl alcohol is primarily used as a solvent, such as extensively in inks, and can also substitute for ethanol with a lower boiling point as a solvent. It plays a particularly important role in the solvents for polyamide inks used in printing and dyeing plastic films. It is also utilized in chromatography. As an intermediate, it is mainly employed in the production of n-propylamine, propyl esters, propionamide, and others.
