Corosolic acid is primarily extracted from the dried aerial parts of the Euphorbiaceae plant Phyllanthus urinaria. It appears as a white to off-white crystalline powder, odorless, with a slightly bitter taste. It exhibits some hygroscopicity and should be stored sealed, protected from light, in a cool and dry place. It is highly soluble in methanol and ethanol but has low solubility in water. Its main component is triterpenoids.
