Dichloroethane
Other Products
Application Fields
Chemical Raw Materials: An important raw material for the production of vinyl chloride; globally, more than 95% of ethylene dichloride is used to produce vinyl chloride. It can also be used to produce ethyleneamine, vinylidene chloride, and chlorinated solvents. It is also a raw material for the production of ethylene glycol, oxalic acid, ethylenediamine, tetraethyl lead, polyethylene polyamine, and benzil.
Solvent: Can be used as a solvent for oils, resins, and rubber; as a dry cleaning agent; and as an extractant for pesticides such as pyrethrin, caffeine, vitamins, and hormones. It can also be used for petroleum dewaxing and as an anti-knock agent.
Analytical Reagent: Used as an analytical reagent, such as a solvent and a standard substance for chromatographic analysis.
Agricultural Field: In agriculture, it can be used as a fumigant for grains and cereals, and as a soil disinfectant.
