Preservative Booster: A common ingredient in "additive-free" or "mild formulas." When compounded with phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, etc., it enhances the efficacy of the preservative system, reduces the required concentration of traditional preservatives, and minimizes irritation. Widely used in products such as face creams, lotions, serums, facial masks, shampoos, and body washes.

Humectant: Assists in improving the moisturizing performance of products, making it particularly suitable for skincare products intended for dry skin. It also improves the skin feel of the product (e.g., reducing stickiness and increasing a refreshing sensation).

Solvent and Co-emulsifier: Helps dissolve lipid-soluble active ingredients (such as plant extracts, vitamins) and assists in stabilizing the emulsion system, enhancing the uniformity and stability of the product.

Pharmaceutical Field

Used as a humectant or solvent in some topical preparations (such as ointments, gels, lotions), while also assisting in inhibiting microbial contamination and enhancing the stability of the preparation.

Used in infant care products (due to mildness and low irritation) and skincare products for sensitive skin to reduce the risk of allergies;
