Trimethylbenzene
Other Products
Uses
Solvent applications: It is an ideal solvent for the production of coating resins, paints, coatings, inks, adhesives, and paint thinners. Due to its moderate evaporation rate and strong solvency power, it enables paints, inks, etc., to possess excellent leveling properties and gloss. It can also serve as an industrial cleaning agent, providing effective cleaning results for certain oil stains and resins.
Organic synthesis raw materials: 1,3,5-Trimethylbenzene can be used to produce synthetic resins, M-acid, antioxidant 330 (1,3,5-trimethylaniline), wheat field herbicides, polyester resin stabilizers, alkyd resin plasticizers, etc.; 1,2,4-Trimethylbenzene can be used to produce trimellitic anhydride, which is further used in the manufacture of polyimide resins, plasticizers, etc.
Other fields: It can be used as a solvent for high-temperature chemical reactions and for the production of petroleum additives. It is also used in the manufacture of synthetic dyes, synthetic resins, liquid scintillator solvents, etc.
