1H-tetrazole
Other Products
Main Uses
Pharmaceutical Synthesis:
As an intermediate for cephalosporin antibiotics: In the synthesis of cephalosporins (such as cefazolin, ceftezole), 1H-tetrazole is used to construct the 7-position side chain, enhancing the antibacterial activity and stability of the drugs;
Antiviral drug intermediate: Its derivatives can inhibit viral replication (such as influenza viruses) and are used in antiviral drug research and development;
Metal chelating agent: Coordinates with metal ions (such as zinc, copper) for the preparation of metal-based drugs or diagnostic reagents.
Materials Field:
High-energy material additive: The tetrazole ring contains a high nitrogen content; its derivatives (such as 5-aminotetrazole) can be used to prepare explosives and propellants, reducing smoke pollution;
Polymer material monomer: Introduced into polymer chains via substitution reactions, imparting properties such as antibacterial and flame retardant characteristics to the materials.
Organic Synthesis:
Protecting group: Used as a carboxyl protecting group in peptide synthesis, featuring mild reaction conditions and easy removal;
Ligand: Forms complexes with transition metals (such as palladium, platinum) and acts as a catalyst participating in coupling reactions, cyclization reactions, etc.
