　　Main Applications

　　Gas Purification

　　It is the most commonly used acid gas absorbent. It can react with H₂S and CO₂ in natural gas and syngas to form salts, and release acid gases upon heating for recycling. It is widely used for desulfurization and decarbonization in petroleum refining, coal chemical industry, and other fields.

　　Surfactants and Detergents

　　It reacts with fatty acids to form fatty acid ethanolamine salts (such as cocamide MEA), which have emulsifying, foaming, and foam-stabilizing effects. It is an important raw material for daily chemical products like shampoos and body washes; it is also used in metal cleaning agents to enhance detergency.

　　Pharmaceutical and Pesticide Intermediates

　　It can be used to synthesize antihistamines, local anesthetics, etc.; in pesticides, it is used as an intermediate for preparing insecticides and herbicides, such as carbamate compounds.

　　Textile and Dyeing Industry

　　Used as a softener and fixing agent to improve the hand feel and color fastness of fibers; also used for anti-static treatment of fabrics.

　　Other Fields

　　Used as a catalyst for synthesizing polyurethane foam, promoting the reaction between isocyanates and polyols;

　　As a metal corrosion inhibitor to reduce metal rust in cooling water systems;

　　Used in cosmetics to adjust pH value, while also having certain moisturizing effects.
