　　Main Uses

　　Synthesis of Epoxy Resins:

　　This is the primary use of epichlorohydrin, accounting for over 70% of its consumption. The epoxy resin produced by polymerization with bisphenol A is characterized by strong adhesion, chemical resistance, and good insulation properties. It is widely used in coatings, adhesives, electronic packaging materials, composite materials, and other fields.

　　Preparation of Glycerol:

　　Epichlorohydrin can be hydrolyzed to produce glycerol (glycerin), which is one of the important industrial methods for glycerol production.

　　Synthesis of Surfactants:

　　It reacts with amine compounds to generate quaternary ammonium salts, which are used as cationic surfactants (such as bactericides and antistatic agents).

　　Pharmaceutical and Pesticide Intermediates:

　　Used in the synthesis of antibiotics, anthelmintics, etc., and also as raw materials for pesticides (such as herbicides and insecticides).

　　Others: Used as a solvent for diluting resins and coatings; used in the preparation of plasticizers, stabilizers, etc.
