　　Main Uses

　　Organic Synthesis Intermediate:

　　The core use is the preparation of ethylene glycol (an important polyester raw material used in the production of polyester, antifreeze, etc.) through reduction reactions. Especially in the "coal-to-ethylene glycol" process, dimethyl oxalate is a key intermediate, solving the problem of dependence on traditional petroleum routes.

　　Used to synthesize other esters and amides, and further prepare pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediates (such as precursors for certain antibiotics and herbicides).

　　Solvent and Plasticizer: Due to its good solubility for organic substances, it can be used as a special solvent in industries such as coatings and inks; it can also serve as a raw material for plasticizers to improve the flexibility of plastics (though this application is less common due to higher costs).
