Main Applications

Surfactant Field:

As a raw material for synthesizing cationic surfactants (e.g., octyltrimethylammonium chloride) and amphoteric surfactants (e.g., octyl betaine), used in detergents, emulsifiers, softeners, etc., capable of reducing surface tension and improving the wettability and dispersibility of substances.

Used to prepare antistatic agents, reducing surface resistivity of materials by adsorbing moisture through polar groups (e.g., used in plastics and fiber processing).

Organic Synthesis and Chemical Industry:

As an intermediate for synthesizing dyes, pigments, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, etc. For example, reacting with aromatic compounds to generate Schiff bases, used for metal coordination or as pharmaceutical intermediates.

Used to prepare corrosion inhibitors, forming adsorption films on metal surfaces to inhibit corrosion (e.g., used in rust prevention during oil extraction and metal processing).

As an extractant to separate rare metal ions (e.g., copper, cobalt, nickel, etc.), utilizing its complexing ability with metal ions to achieve selective extraction.

Other Applications:

In the textile industry, used for softening finishing and waterproofing treatment of fabrics;

In the coatings industry, as a curing agent or additive to improve the adhesion and weather resistance of coatings;
