　　Main Uses

　　Surfactant Synthesis:

　　A key raw material for the preparation of cationic and amphoteric surfactants, for example:

　　Reacting with hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, etc. to produce dodecylamine salts, used as mineral flotation agents (e.g., for copper ore, iron ore) and asphalt emulsifiers.

　　Reacting with ethylene oxide to produce polyoxyethylene dodecylamine, used as a non-ionic surfactant for emulsification and dispersion in detergents and cosmetics.

　　Reacting with chloroacetic acid to produce dodecyl betaine (amphoteric surfactant), used in shampoos, body washes, etc., featuring mild and low-irritant properties.

　　Materials and Chemical Engineering:

　　As a curing agent for synthetic resins, used for epoxy resin cross-linking to improve material strength and corrosion resistance.

　　As a lubricant additive to improve anti-wear and antioxidant properties of oils; used as a softener and antistatic agent in the textile industry to give fabrics a smooth hand feel.

　　As an organic synthesis intermediate, used to prepare dodecylamine derivatives (e.g., amides, guanidines) for further synthesis of pharmaceuticals and pesticides (e.g., insecticides, fungicides).

　　Other Applications:

　　Used as a corrosion inhibitor in water treatment, inhibiting metal corrosion by adsorbing onto metal surfaces to form a protective film.

　　As an extractant for the separation and purification of rare metals (e.g., platinum, palladium); used as a component of water repellents in the paper industry.
