　　Main Uses

　　Pharmaceutical Industry:

　　As an intermediate for synthesizing local anesthetics; its ester derivatives possess anesthetic properties and are commonly used for surface anesthesia of skin and mucous membranes.

　　Synthesis of anti-tuberculosis drugs and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), as well as a precursor for the preparation of folic acid (Vitamin B complex).

　　Dyes and Pigments:

　　Used in the synthesis of azo dyes and acid dyes; these dyes exhibit excellent dyeing performance on fibers (such as wool and silk), featuring vibrant colors and wash fastness.

　　As an intermediate for preparing functional pigments used in inks, coatings, and plastic coloring.

　　Cosmetics and Sunscreen Agents:

　　One of the raw materials for sunscreen agents; its derivatives (such as para-aminobenzoate esters) can absorb ultraviolet rays and are added to products like sunscreens and lip balms to provide sun protection (however, the sunscreen efficacy of meta-derivatives is weaker than that of para-derivatives, and they are more often used to adjust formula stability).

　　Other Applications:

　　Used in the synthesis of organic synthesis reagents (such as diazonium salt precursors) and indicators in analytical chemistry.

　　Used as a crosslinking agent or functional monomer in polymer materials to improve the hydrophilicity and biocompatibility of the materials.
