　　Main Uses

　　Organic synthesis raw materials:

　　Used to prepare polar aprotic solvents such as N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF, an important solvent) and N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc);

　　Synthetic rubber accelerators (e.g., tetramethylthiuram disulfide), dye intermediates, surfactants, etc.

　　Pharmaceutical and pesticide fields:

　　As an intermediate for synthesizing antibiotics, antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine), local anesthetics, etc.;

　　Preparation of insecticides (e.g., methamidophos), herbicides, plant growth regulators, etc.

　　Other applications:

　　Used as a paint stripper and leather unhairing agent (utilizing its alkalinity);

　　Used in gas purification to absorb acidic gases (e.g., hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide);

　　Used as a flocculant or pH regulator in water treatment.
