Application Areas

Polyester Fiber Production: The most important use of terephthalic acid is polycondensation with ethylene glycol to form polyester, which is then used to manufacture polyester fibers, commercially known as polyester or PET. Polyester fibers possess advantages such as high strength, good elasticity, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance, and are widely used in fields such as clothing, home textiles, and industrial fabrics.

Polyester Film Manufacturing: It can be made into polyester films, which have excellent mechanical, optical, electrical, and barrier properties, and are used in packaging, electronics, electrical insulation, and other aspects.

Plastic Bottle Production: It is used to produce polyester bottles, such as various beverage bottles, cooking oil bottles, and cosmetic bottles, characterized by high transparency, high strength, good barrier properties, and strong chemical corrosion resistance.

Other Fields: It can also be used to manufacture herbicides, adhesives, insulating varnishes, engineering plastics, etc., and can serve as a reagent for chromatographic analysis, used for determining the residual alkalinity of wool, etc.
