Main Uses

High-Energy Materials Field:

Explosives and Propellants: Due to its high nitrogen content (approximately 82.3%) and strong exothermic decomposition properties, it is an important component of low-smoke, low-pollution explosives (e.g., mixed with ammonium nitrate to prepare industrial explosives), or as a gas-generating agent for rocket propellants (releasing large amounts of nitrogen gas upon combustion).

Primary Explosives: Its metal salts (such as lead salts, silver salts) have high initiation sensitivity and can be used in detonators or initiation devices.

Pharmaceuticals and Biochemistry:

Pharmaceutical Intermediates: Used in the synthesis of antibacterial and antiviral drugs; the introduction of the tetrazole ring can enhance the binding ability of drugs to target sites;

Biological Stains: Its derivatives can serve as fluorescent probes for detecting metal ions or enzyme activity within organisms.

Other Applications:

Organic Synthesis Ligands: Forms stable complexes with metal ions (such as copper, cobalt, nickel) and participates as a catalyst in cyclization and coupling reactions;
