1. Coatings and Adhesives

High-solids coatings: Leveraging high solvency and slow volatility, 2-heptanone can significantly improve the dissolution efficiency of acrylic resins, nitrocellulose, etc., enhance film leveling and adhesion, and is widely used in automotive OEM paints and industrial coatings. Experiments show that at acrylic resin solid contents of 30-50%, its dissolving power is superior to PMA (propylene glycol methyl ether acetate) and butyl acetate.

Eco-friendly adhesives: As a low-VOCs solvent, it is used to prepare high-temperature resistant adhesives and paint strippers, featuring long open time and high bonding strength.

2. Fragrance and Food Industry

Food flavorings: Possessing a fruity aroma, it is approved by the FDA for use in formulating banana, coconut, cream, and other flavors; trace amounts can enhance creamy flavors.

Daily chemical products: When compounded with spicy fragrances, it is used in shampoos and soaps to harmonize the scent and prolong fragrance retention.

3. Pharmaceutical and Pesticide Intermediates

Antibacterial drugs: Used in the synthesis of rifamycin derivatives (such as rifampicin) and thiazolidin-4-one class Toxoplasma inhibitors.

Pesticide synthesis: As a key intermediate for insecticides and herbicides, for example, used in the production of organophosphorus pesticides to construct active functional groups.

4. Electronic Chemicals

Photoresist diluent: Compounded with PMA, it can improve photoresist coating uniformity, meeting the high-precision requirements of semiconductor manufacturing.

Electronic cleaning agents: High resistivity (>1000Ω・M) and low surface tension enable it to effectively remove grease and particulate contaminants from the surface of electronic components.
