Avocent is a global leading supplier of KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) switching and connectivity solutions, which enable IT administrators to access and control multiple servers and network data center devices. Avocent was formed in July 2000 through the merger of two industry-leading innovative manufacturers, Cybex Computer Products Corporation and Apex Inc. Avocent's KVM solutions are adopted by many of the world's largest server manufacturers and applied by numerous Fortune Global 100 companies.
KVM switching systems allow access and control of multi-rack servers from a single console, and can also be controlled from remote locations. These switches eliminate redundant keyboards, monitors and mice, enabling enterprises to save valuable space in their data centers.
Avocent DS Series elevates KVM switching to new heights. The DSR switch is the latest addition to Avocent's successful product line. Integrating powerful digital and analog connectivity, the DSR switch enhances usability through a standard Windows interface. No other company can offer such a flexible access solution for enterprises. These switches utilize Avocent's proprietary KVM over IP technology, allowing you to access and control servers and a range of rack devices from a Network Operations Center (NOC) or anywhere in the world.
Avocent's product portfolio covers a full range of solutions from desktops to data centers. "Global access to multiple servers is becoming a key performance area for many companies," said Lloyd Cohen, Global Market Analysis Director at IDC. "The benefits of reduced server downtime and distributed IT control are quite evident. Avocent's new-generation DSR Series is a natural evolution in the digital KVM trend, making global server access and control a practical option for more data center environments."
Avocent is headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, with offices in Redmond, Washington; Sunrise, Florida; Chelmsford, Massachusetts; Austin, Texas; Shannon, Ireland; London, England; Steinhagen and Munich, Germany; Singapore; Tokyo, Japan; Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Beijing and the Netherlands.
