El Niño "Heat Test": Power Grid Under Unprecedented Thermal Pressure
As El Niño events become more frequent, extreme high-temperature weather is shifting from "occasional" to "normal", with power loads across society repeatedly hitting new highs, putting transmission lines at severe risk of overheating. The sharp rise in load causes conductor temperatures to surge, while key nodes such as connecting fittings and clamps—due to long-term operation issues like loose joints, oxidation, and corrosion—see resistance increase under high temperatures, creating a vicious cycle. Once temperatures exceed safety thresholds, the consequences range from accelerated aging at minimum to wire breakage, melting, or even fires at maximum. Traditional manual inspections rely on infrared thermal imagers to check each tower, which are time-consuming, have limited coverage, and can hardly capture sudden temperature rises between inspections. Transmission lines urgently need a 24-hour "online thermometer" to eliminate problems at their early stage.
TLKS-PMG-TP: Installing a "Smart Thermometer" for High-Voltage Lines
TLKS-PMG-TPTransmission Line Strain Clamp Temperature Measuring Device is developed for heat prevention and control of high-voltage transmission lines, mainly for all-weather temperature collection and monitoring of key parts such as conductors, connecting fittings, and clamps. Relying on contact digital temperature measurement and wireless transmission technology, the device can capture abnormal temperature rises caused by overload, loose joints, or aging in real time and send automatic warnings, completely solving the pain points of delayed manual inspections and incomplete coverage. It is a core intelligent operation and maintenance device for ensuring the stable operation of high-voltage lines.
Working Principle
TLKS-PMG-TPTransmission Line Strain Clamp Temperature Measuring Device adopts a three-level monitoring architecture: front-end sensor collection, wireless transmission, and back-end analysis. High-precision temperature sensors deployed on line conductors and clamps collect real-time surface temperature data, which is transmitted to the terminal host via wireless communication for summary processing, and then uploaded to the monitoring center platform through a communication network. The system intelligently judges the operating status based on preset thresholds; once an abnormal temperature rise is detected, it immediately triggers a warning, helping operation and maintenance personnel accurately locate fault points and carry out maintenance and rectification in a timely manner.
Core Functions
⚡ Equipotential Anti-Interference Design: The equipotential structure design of the shell and the conductor effectively resists high-voltage electromagnetic interference, ensuring data accuracy and stability.
