This sofa was designed by Mario Bellini in 1972. It became almost immediately famous after being exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Mario Bellini (1935-) is a trained architect and one of the leading designers of post-war Italian style. His furniture is exciting, both in terms of material usage and design originality. Bellini does not believe in precise boundaries of design; instead, he designs for the relationship between people and the environment.
