Doppler Radar Intelligent Warning Sign
I. Overview
Winter has arrived, with temperatures dropping below zero in most areas. People indoors comfortably enjoy the light and warmth. Behind this comfort are power workers who brave the biting cold to conduct arduous inspections of power distribution facilities across streets and lanes. They work tirelessly to eliminate potential external damage, ensuring people have normal electricity usage in winter. However, some external damage accidents are man-made, and inspectors cannot foresee accidents caused by human factors, only being able to remedy them after they occur, which is very passive. Based on this problem, Telcom has developed a Doppler Radar Intelligent Warning Sign, which proactively alerts pedestrians passing by to reduce the frequency of external damage accidents.
II. Working Principle
Intelligent Warning and Protection Device for Preventing External Damage to Transmission Lines is an LED warning sign with flashing lights and text, featuring a red background with white text, making it highly visible both during the day and at night (with flashing lights). It is equipped with a radar sensing device inside. Once it detects a person or vehicle entering the sensing range, it immediately activates dual alarms: flashing lights + voice, achieving the purpose of preventing external damage to power facilities. Considering that the flashing effect is not good during the day, a light-sensing element is added inside. When visibility is good during the day, only the voice alarm is used. The device is powered by solar energy or a 12V DC power supply, which can be flexibly selected according to on-site conditions.
III. Technical Parameters of the Doppler Radar Intelligent Warning Sign
1. Power Supply System: Solar energy + lithium battery / external DC 12V
2. Sensing Method: Infrared sensing / laser radar
3. Sensing Distance: 5 – 8 meters
4. Installation Environment: Bracket / utility pole / angle iron
IV. Postscript
With the accelerated development of cities, the demand for electricity has increased significantly. Now, walking on sidewalks, you can basically see a utility pole about every 50 meters and a transformer every 100 meters. If there are dense residential areas around, the density of these power distribution facilities will further increase, which also leads to a corresponding increase in the number of man-made external damage accidents. As a warning product that can actively monitor pedestrians and issue alarms, the Doppler Radar Intelligent Warning Sign has a much better warning effect than the old-style physical text warning signs. For traditional warning signs to achieve a warning effect, the premise is that pedestrians "see" them. However, in reality, many people focus on their mobile phones while walking and cannot notice the surrounding power distribution facilities at all. Therefore, power bureaus across various regions have gradually begun to replace the original warning products with Doppler Radar Intelligent Warning Signs.
