Installation Fixture
When installing a surface strain gauge for long-term observation, first install the matched fixture test rods. During installation, the bottom surfaces of the two fixtures should be on the same plane, and the center-to-center distance of the fastening bolt holes of the two fixtures should be 100mm (the gauge length of the instrument). Use the 4 holes on the fixture with test rods (the mounting plate attached to the bottom of the fixture) to mark points at the fixed positions (observation points) of the instrument. Drill holes at the marked positions on the measured structure, install expansion bolts, then fix the fixture group with test rods on the measured structure, and the installation of the instrument fixture is completed.
When installing a surface strain gauge for temporary measurement, the fixture is generally adhered to the measured structure with adhesive. First, level and roughen the part of the measured structure where the fixture needs to be installed. Apply AB glue (quick-drying epoxy resin glue) to the middle of the bottom of the fixture with test rods (on the same plane), apply 502 quick-drying glue around the fixture, then immediately adhere it to the leveled and roughened part of the measured structure, press it for about 2 minutes before releasing, and it will be firmly adhered in about 10 minutes.
Sensor Installation
After the fixture is fixed, gently remove the installation test rods, and insert the surface strain gauge from one end of the fixture until each end face of the surface strain gauge is flush with the outer edge of the fixture. When installing the surface strain gauge, adjust the measuring range (adjust the initial value) according to the design requirements. The method is: there is a threaded hole on the front seat of each strain gauge, and a special pull rod can be used for tension and compression adjustment. During adjustment, first tighten the clamping screw at the end with the cable, connect the reading instrument monitoring device, use the adjustment pull rod to perform tension or compression adjustment. After adjustment is appropriate, tighten the screw at the other end of the fixture and remove the adjustment pull rod.
