injection tank
Centered around the concept of environmental protection, Xiangye Company has exquisitely showcased the unique charm of the injection tank.
The injection tank, also known as the coal injection tank, is a typical internal pressure vessel. Its structure is ingeniously composed of parts such as an elliptical or dish-shaped head, a circular straight section, a conical lower head, a support, and a manhole. While following standard design specifications, its design pressure needs to be adjusted according to actual working conditions. Especially when injecting bituminous coal, the design pressure needs to be appropriately increased to ensure safety.

The injection system is jointly constructed by different types of injection tank groups, butterfly valves, fluidization devices, and other components. Here, the coal powder injection process is like a carefully choreographed dance. In the injection tank group, compressed air is filled, and then secondary compressed air is introduced through a self-mixer to accurately inject the coal powder into the blast furnace tuyere through pipes and lances.

It is worth mentioning that the arrangement of the injection tank group is quite ingenious. They can be arranged in parallel, with coal charging and coal injection alternating, like dancers taking turns on stage; or they can be arranged in an overlapping manner, where the bottom tank is dedicated to injection, and the task of coal charging is handled by the upper tank and its pressure equalization and discharge device. This design takes into account both efficiency and operational safety.

At the bottom of the injection tank, a fluidized bed is installed; and on the conical section of the lower part of the tank body, fluidization nozzles are installed. Both are connected to the fluidization gas source through control valves. Through the agitation effect of the fluidization nozzles, the conveying performance of the powder in the injection tank has been greatly improved, and the fluidization effect has also been optimized. This innovation is not only applicable to newly built injection systems but also provides new ideas for the transformation of existing systems.
The arrangement of the injection tanks has both the beauty of a single series like a tank string and the well-arranged layout of multiple series. The injection methods are divided into direct and indirect types. The direct injection method is like a waterfall rushing straight into the sky, sending coal powder directly into the blast furnace; while the indirect injection method is like a meandering stream, transporting the prepared coal powder to the injection station near the blast furnace through special pipes or tank trucks. The contrast and integration of these two methods are like a dancing melody, playing a moving movement on Xiangye Company's production line.
When it comes to the layout form of the injection tanks, it is even more unique. The alternating use of parallel injection and tank string injection is like dancers flexibly changing formations on the stage. To ensure the uninterrupted coal injection operation of the blast furnace, the sequential reversal or cross-reversal of the tanks has become a daily "dance move". This design not only considers the continuity of production but also takes into account the ability to handle possible injection accidents.
This innovation from Xiangye Company saves investment while greatly improving the stability and efficiency of injection. Although parallel injection occupies a larger area, its injection weighing is simple and the investment is relatively small, so it has been widely used in direct injection process systems for small blast furnaces. No matter which method is used, they all show unique charm in Xiangye Company's ingenious design.
This is the story of the injection tank presented by Xiangye Company to us, a story full of wisdom and ingenuity.
