The GW5 series disconnector is an outdoor high-voltage electrical device, mainly used for no-load switching operations and electrical isolation of high-voltage lines. Its rated voltage ranges from 35kV to 126kV, and it is suitable for various outdoor scenarios such as power plants, substations, photovoltaic power stations and rail transit.
Product Structure and Design
The GW5 disconnector adopts a double-column V-shaped structure, with the two pillars forming an angle of 50°-60°, featuring a compact structure and small floor space. Its core designs include:
Double-break design: The opening distance is significantly increased through two symmetrically arranged breaks. In the 40.5kV system, it can reduce the re-strike probability from 0.03% to 0.005%, effectively improving the arc extinguishing capability.
Self-cleaning contact system: The contact fingers adopt a wedge-shaped design, which generates axial displacement during the switching process and can automatically scrape off the oxide layer on the contact surface, ensuring that the contact resistance remains at a low level after long-term operation.
Modular design: The equipment is mainly composed of three modules: conductive circuit, insulating support and operating mechanism, which supports separate replacement, greatly shortening maintenance time and reducing spare parts inventory.
Intelligent operating mechanism: An intelligent mechanism integrated with a torque sensor and an angle encoder is optional, which can monitor the operating status in real time and automatically give an early warning when the torque is abnormal.
Rated voltage: Common grades include 35kV, 40.5kV, 72.5kV, 110kV, 126kV, etc.
Rated current: Covers 630A, 1250A, 1600A, 2000A, 2500A, 3150A, 4000A, etc.
Grounding method: Supports non-grounding, single grounding and double grounding.
Insulator type: Two options are provided: ceramic type and silicone rubber composite insulator. The composite insulator adopts a special process, with high flexural strength and seismic performance.
Operating mechanism: Supports manual (CS17 type), electric (CJ6 type) and intelligent operation modes.
Application Environment and Certification Conventional use environment: Altitude not exceeding 3000 meters, ambient temperature from -25℃ to +40℃, wind speed not exceeding 35m/s, seismic intensity not exceeding 8 degrees. Some models have passed more stringent full-environment simulation verification, and can adapt to conditions of altitude 5500 meters, temperature from -50℃ to +85℃.
Key Points for Use and Maintenance
The switch must be operated only after the line load is completely cut off.
For models with grounding knife switches, the operation sequence of the main knife switch and the grounding knife switch must be strictly followed, ensuring that the switch is fully opened before closing operation.
It is recommended to conduct a comprehensive inspection once a year, including: removing dust and dirt, inspecting conductive contact surfaces and applying lubricating grease; checking various parts and fasteners; adjusting the three-phase synchronization and closing in-place condition; checking the operating mechanism and auxiliary switches; replenishing lubricant at all mechanical moving parts.
The installation site shall be free of explosion hazards, severe vibration and severe chemical corrosion.
