The CD10 electromagnetic operating mechanism can manually and remotely control opening and closing, suitable for automation, but it requires a DC operating power supply. It is mainly composed of a working element, a connecting rod system, a switching device, a buffer flange and other parts. When tripping, the bump on the trip iron core hits the connecting rod system upwards because the trip coil is energized by manual or remote control, causing the connecting rod roller resting on the L-shaped hook to fall. Then the main shaft rotates under the action of the breaking spring, causing the circuit breaker to trip and driving the auxiliary switch to switch. After the circuit breaker trips, the trip iron core falls, and the two connecting rods facing the iron core return to the state before tripping.

① Simple structure and easy processing.

② Can perform operations and automatic reclosing.

③ The output characteristics of the mechanism match well with the reaction force characteristics of the body.

① Large closing current, requiring a high-power DC power supply.

② Due to the large closing current, it is difficult for general auxiliary switches and intermediate relay contacts to switch such a large current. Therefore, a DC contactor must be additionally configured, and the contacts with arc suppression coils of the DC contactor are used to control the closing current, thereby controlling opening and closing.

③ Low action speed, long closing time, and changes in power supply voltage have a great impact on the closing speed.

④ Consumes more materials.

⑤ Since the body and operating mechanism of outdoor substation switches are generally assembled together, this integrated switch generally only has the functions of electric closing, electric opening and manual opening, but does not have the manual closing function. Therefore, when the circuit breaker refuses to close electrically due to a fault in the mechanism box, power must be cut off and the mechanism box opened for maintenance. Otherwise, normal power transmission will not be possible. The spring operating mechanism has the functions of electric energy storage, electric closing, electric opening, manual energy storage, manual closing and manual opening. Even if the spring operating mechanism refuses to close electrically, it can be closed locally for power transmission without immediate power outage treatment. This is where the spring operating mechanism is superior to the electromagnetic operating mechanism. Although the electromagnetic operating mechanism has the above shortcomings, due to its simple structure, the situation where the circuit breaker refuses to perform electric opening and closing due to a fault in the mechanism box of the electromagnetic operating mechanism rarely occurs.
