A window is a parallel plane plate, commonly used as a protective window for electronic sensors or detectors of the external environment. It does not alter the magnification of the system. Substrate materials include various optical glasses, K9, UV fused silica, IR fused silica, and crystalline materials such as calcium fluoride (CaF2), magnesium fluoride (MgF2), zinc selenide (ZnSe), germanium (Ge), silicon (Si), among others. Various optical coatings are provided, including anti-reflection coatings, high-reflection coatings, beam splitter coatings, metallic coatings, and more. Broadband anti-reflection coatings are available for ultraviolet, visible, near-infrared, and mid-infrared wavelength bands.
