Guangzhou Huajian Commodity Inspection Co., Ltd. specializes in providing third-party inspection services, third-party factory audits, and container loading supervision services. It is a professional third-party inspection company, foreign trade inspection company, third-party quality control company, third-party product inspection company, and third-party testing company.
I. Sewing Inspection:
1. The seam allowance should be no less than 3/16″. For small-sized toys, the seam allowance should be no less than 1/8″.
2. During sewing, the two pieces of fabric must be aligned, and the seam allowance should be even. Variations in width are not allowed (especially for circular and curved pieces, as well as facial seams).
3. The stitch density should be no less than 9 stitches per inch.
4. The end of the seam must have backstitching.
5. The thread used for sewing must meet the tensile strength requirements (refer to the QA testing methods mentioned earlier) and be of the correct color.
6. During sewing, the operator must use tweezers to tuck the pile inward while sewing to avoid creating bald patches.
7. For sewing labels, first verify that the correct label is used. It is not allowed to sew through the text or letters on the label. The label must not be wrinkled or placed upside down.
8. During sewing, the pile direction of the toy’s arms, legs, and ears must be consistent and symmetrical (unless otherwise specified).
9. The seams on the toy’s head must align with those on the body, and the seams at the body joints must match (unless otherwise specified).
10. Skipped stitches or missed stitches are not allowed on the seam lines.
11. Semi-finished sewn products should be placed in designated locations to avoid loss or contamination.
12. All cutting tools should be properly stored and cleaned thoroughly at the beginning and end of each shift.
13. Adhere to other customer-specific regulations and requirements.
II. Handcraft Quality Inspection: (Finished products are inspected according to handcraft quality standards.)
Handcrafting is a critical process in toy production, marking the transition from semi-finished to finished products. It determines the appearance and quality of the toy. Quality control personnel at all levels must strictly adhere to the following requirements during inspection.
1. Eye Installation:
A. Verify that the correct eyes are used and that their quality meets standards. Eyes with defects such as discoloration, bubbles, damage, or scratches are unacceptable and must not be used.
B. Check that the eye washers are properly matched. Washers that are too large or too small are unacceptable.
C. Ensure the eyes are installed in the correct position. Misaligned eyes or incorrect eye spacing are unacceptable.
D. Adjust the eye-installation machine’s pressure to avoid cracking or loosening the eyes.
E. All installed eyes must withstand a tensile force of 21 LBS.
2. Nose Installation:
A. Verify that the correct nose is used and check for surface damage or deformation.
B. Ensure the nose is positioned correctly. Incorrect or crooked placement is unacceptable.
C. Adjust the installation machine’s pressure to avoid damaging the nose surface or causing looseness.
D. The tensile strength must meet requirements, withstanding a force of 21 LBS.
3. Heat Melting:
A. The sharp tips of eyes and noses must be heat-melted, typically from the tip to the end.
B. Incomplete melting or over-melting (melting the washer) is unacceptable.
C. Take care not to scorch other parts of the toy during heat melting.
4. Stuffing:
A. The overall requirement for stuffing is a full appearance and soft texture.
B. Stuffing must meet the required weight. Insufficient or uneven stuffing is unacceptable.
C. Pay special attention to the head stuffing, ensuring the mouth area is firm, full, and prominent.
D. Do not overlook stuffing in all corners of the toy’s body.
E. For standing toys, the legs must be firmly stuffed to avoid a soft or collapsing feel.
F. For sitting toys, focus on stuffing the buttocks and waist to ensure stability. If unstable, use a needle to adjust the stuffing; otherwise, it is unacceptable.
G. Stuffing must not deform the toy, especially the positions of limbs and the angle or direction of the head.
H. The stuffed toy’s dimensions must match the approved sample. Smaller sizes are unacceptable and are a key focus of stuffing inspection.
I. All stuffed toys must be compared to the approved sample and continuously improved for perfection. Any deviations from the sample are unacceptable.
J. Any bursting seams or exposed filling after stuffing are considered defective.
5. Seam Closing and Brushing:
A. All seams must be tight and smooth, with no holes or loose ends. Test by inserting a ballpoint pen into the seam—it should not penetrate. Manually check for gaps.
B. The stitch density for seam closing should be no less than 10 stitches per inch.
C. Knots from seam closing must not be visible on the outside.
D. After seam closing, no stuffing should be visible through the seam.
E. Brushing must be thorough, with no bald patches, especially in corners like hands and feet.
F. When brushing thin pile, avoid excessive force to prevent damaging the fabric.
G. Brushing must not damage other components (e.g., eyes, nose). Cover these areas with your hand during brushing.
6. Stringing:
A. Follow customer specifications and approved samples for stringing methods and positions for eyes, mouth, and head.
B. Stringing must not deform the toy, especially the head’s angle and direction.
C. Ensure even tension when stringing eyes to avoid uneven depth or misalignment.
D. Knots from stringing must not be left outside the toy’s body.
E. After stringing, trim all loose threads from the toy.
F. Commonly used "triangular stringing method" steps:
(1) Insert needle from point A to B, then to C, and back to A.
(2) Insert needle from A to D, then to E, and back to A to tie the knot.
G. Follow other customer-specific stringing requirements.
H. After stringing, the toy’s expression and shape should closely match the approved sample. Identify and correct any deficiencies until they fully align.
7. Accessories:
A. Accessories must be made according to customer requirements and approved samples. Any deviations are unacceptable.
B. Hand-attached accessories, such as bows, ribbons, buttons, and flowers, must be securely fastened without looseness.
C. All accessories must withstand a tensile force of 4 LBS. Quality inspectors must regularly test accessory tensile strength.
8. Tag Attachment:
A. Verify that the correct tags are attached and that all required tags are present.
B. Double-check barcode numbers, price tags, and prices for accuracy.
C. Understand the correct method, placement, and sequence for attaching tags.
D. The ends of plastic fasteners must protrude outside the toy’s body, not remain inside.
E. For toys with display boxes or gift boxes, understand the correct placement and fastener positions.
9. Blowing:
The blowing process involves removing loose threads and pile from the toy. It must be thorough, especially on materials prone to lint, such as plush fabrics and velour, as well as on ears and facial areas.
10. Metal Detector:
A. Before using the metal detector, test its functionality with a metal object.
B. During use, pass all parts of the toy over the detector. If the detector alarms or lights up, immediately unpick the seams, remove the stuffing, and pass each component through the detector until the metal object is found.
C. Clearly separate and mark toys that have passed metal detection from those that have not.
D. Fill out the [Metal Detector Usage Record] diligently after each use.
11. Additional Notes:
Keep hands clean to avoid transferring oil or stains onto the toy, especially white plush. Soiled toys are unacceptable.
