Usage Description
Argon is a rare gas widely used in industry. It is highly inert—neither flammable nor supportive of combustion. In industries such as aircraft manufacturing, shipbuilding, nuclear energy, and machinery, argon is often used as a shielding gas during the welding of special metals like aluminum, magnesium, copper and their alloys, as well as stainless steel, to prevent oxidation or nitridation by air.
In metal smelting, oxygen-argon blowing is a key process for producing high-quality steel, with argon consumption ranging from 1 to 3 m³ per ton of steel. Additionally, argon is used as a protective gas in the smelting of special metals such as titanium, zirconium, and germanium, as well as in the electronics industry.
