Usage Description
High purity nitrogen gas is packaged in 40L GB steel cylinders at a pressure of 13.5MPa. It can also be repackaged or filled into cylinders of other specifications.
Main uses of pure nitrogen gas: manufacturing of fertilizers, ammonia, nitric acid, and other compounds; inert protective medium; refrigerant and coolant for quick-freezing food and low-temperature crushing; epitaxy, diffusion, chemical vapor deposition, ion implantation, plasma dry etching, photolithography, etc., in the electronics industry; also used as standard gas, zero gas, balance gas, etc.
Chemical Synthesis
Nitrogen is mainly used for ammonia synthesis, with the reaction formula: N2 + 3H2 ⇌ 2NH3 (under conditions of high pressure, high temperature, and catalyst; the reaction is reversible). It is also an important raw material for synthetic fibers (nylon, acrylic), synthetic resins, synthetic rubber, etc. Nitrogen is a nutrient element and can be used to make fertilizers, such as ammonium bicarbonate NH4HCO3, ammonium chloride NH4Cl, ammonium nitrate NH4NO3, etc.
Filling Car Tires with Nitrogen
Nitrogen is almost an inert diatomic gas with extremely low chemical reactivity. Nitrogen molecules are larger than oxygen molecules, less prone to thermal expansion and contraction, with smaller deformation amplitude. The permeation rate through tire walls is about 30–40% slower than air, helping maintain stable tire pressure, improve driving stability, and ensure driving comfort. Nitrogen has low audio conductivity, about one-fifth that of ordinary air, effectively reducing tire noise and enhancing driving quietness.

High purity nitrogen gas is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas under normal conditions, and is generally non-toxic. Nitrogen accounts for 78.12% (by volume) of the atmosphere and is the main component of air. At room temperature, it is a gas. Under standard atmospheric pressure, when cooled to -195.8℃, it becomes a colorless liquid, and when cooled to -209.86℃, liquid nitrogen turns into a snow-like solid. Nitrogen gas is chemically very stable and rarely reacts with other substances at room temperature. However, under high temperature and high energy conditions, it can undergo chemical changes with certain substances to produce new materials useful to humans.
