Working Principle
Industrial centrifugal fans operate on the principle of converting kinetic energy into potential energy. They use high-speed rotating impellers to accelerate gas, then decelerate and change its flow direction, transforming kinetic energy into potential energy to achieve gas transportation and pressurization.
Structural Components
- Casing: Made of steel plate, it can be integral or semi-open, with the semi-open type facilitating maintenance.
- Impeller: Composed of blades, a curved front disc, and a flat rear disc, it is the core component of the fan, determining its performance and efficiency.
- Rotor: Includes the impeller and main shaft, among other parts. It should undergo static and dynamic balancing to ensure smooth operation.
- Transmission Part: Consists of the main shaft, bearing housing, rolling bearings, and pulleys or couplings, used to transmit power.
Performance Characteristics
- Variable Flow Constant Pressure Device: When the speed is constant, the pressure-flow curve is theoretically a straight line. However, due to internal losses, the actual characteristic curve is curved.
- Pressure Affected by Inlet Conditions: The generated pressure is significantly influenced by changes in inlet temperature or density. For a given inlet flow rate, the pressure generated is lowest at the highest inlet temperature.
