When the high-pressure centrifugal fan impeller rotates, the centrifugal force propels the gas forward, creating a spiral motion. The air between the impeller blades accelerates in a spiral pattern, squeezing gas from outside the pump (sucked in from the intake port) into the side channel. Once in the side channel, the gas is compressed and returns to the space between the impeller blades to accelerate again. As the air moves along a helical path through the impeller and side channel, each blade increases compression and acceleration. With continued rotation, the kinetic energy of the gas increases, and the pressure of the gas passing along the side channel rises further. When the air reaches the connection point between the side channel and the discharge flange (where the side channel narrows at the outlet), the gas is expelled from the blades and discharged out of the pump through the outlet silencer.
