Sound-absorbing materials are materials with strong capabilities to absorb sound energy and reduce noise. Sound-absorbing materials must match the acoustic impedance of the surrounding sound-transmitting medium to allow sound energy to enter without reflection and ensure that the majority of incident sound energy is absorbed.
