1. Structure and Material:

Conductor: Usually made by stranding multiple fine copper wires to improve electrical conductivity and flexibility, meeting the requirement of frequent bending of the cable during elevator operation.

Insulation layer: Common insulating materials include polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). PVC is widely used due to its excellent electrical and processing properties, while XLPE has gradually become the mainstream choice thanks to its superior electrical and heat resistance.

Filler: Generally made of non-hygroscopic materials such as nylon and polyester fiber, which are used to fill the internal gaps of the cable and enhance the overall strength of the cable.

PB layer: Usually a metal mesh structure or metal foil, which can prevent electromagnetic interference and lightning strikes, ensure the stability of signal transmission, and is often used in occasions with high requirements for signal transmission.

Outer sheath: It protects the cable. Common materials include PVC, polyurethane (PU) and nylon. PU is widely used due to its excellent wear resistance, aging resistance and oil resistance.

2. Main Characteristics:

Bending resistance: During elevator operation, the trailing control cable will move up and down frequently with the car, so it must have good bending resistance and can withstand multiple bending without damage.

High tensile strength: The cable needs to bear its own weight and the tension generated during elevator operation. Steel wires and other reinforcing cores are usually added to improve the tensile strength.

Good insulation performance: It can maintain good insulation performance under various environmental conditions during elevator operation, ensure the safety and reliability of power transmission and signal transmission, and prevent faults such as electric leakage and short circuit.

Wide applicable temperature range: Generally, it can work normally at an ambient temperature of -40℃ to 70℃, and some types of cables can remain flexible at a low temperature of -15℃.

3. Application Scenarios:

Home elevators: PVC insulated elevator trailing cables are usually used, focusing on durability and economy, which can meet the basic needs of home elevators.

Commercial elevators: Due to high usage frequency and heavy load, double steel wire load-bearing core cables are commonly used. They can provide overall electrical control in long-distance suspension conditions, bear mechanical stress at the same time, and have good PB anti-interference effect.

Hospital elevators: With extremely high requirements for safety and stability, high-performance XLPE insulated elevator trailing cables are often used, which can effectively reduce the failure rate and ensure the long-term stable operation of the elevator.
