Carbon Monoxide Air Purification Ozone Concentration Room GB/T4706.45-2024 

Ozone + Carbon Monoxide Detection Sealed Room is applicable to GB/T4706.45-2024 "Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Particular Requirements for Air Purifiers" Chapter 32 (Radiation, Toxicity, and Similar Hazards), which specifies ozone concentration testing and carbon monoxide concentration testing for air purifiers installed in rooms with a volume not exceeding 30m³. Complies with the requirements of GB/T 4706.1-2024, GB/T 4706.112-2024 Clause 32.101, and GB/T 4706.22-2024 Clause 32.101.

1 Scope of Application

Complies with the requirements of GB/T 4706.1-2024, GB/T 4706.45-2024, GB/T 4706.112-2024 Clause 32.101, and GB/T 4706.22-2024 Clause 32.101.

1.2 Standard Requirements

Radiation, toxicity, and similar hazards. This chapter of GB4706.1-2005 applies except for the following content.

Addition: The ozone concentration generated by electrical devices shall not exceed the specified requirements.

Compliance is determined by the following test:

The test is conducted in a sealed room with dimensions of 2.5m × 3.5m × 3.0m. The walls are covered with polyethylene panels, and the air purifier is placed according to the instructions. Air purifiers designed for use on a table are placed in the center of the room, approximately 750mm above the floor.

The Ozone + Carbon Monoxide Detection Sealed Room maintains a temperature of approximately 15°C–30°C and a relative humidity of approximately 40% RH–70% RH, with a deviation of ±3% RH. The air purifier is powered at rated voltage for 24 hours. If removing the filter results in a more unfavorable condition, the filter shall be removed.

The ozone sampling tube is positioned 50mm from the air outlet of the air purifier. The background ozone concentration is measured at the start of the test, and the maximum concentration measured during the test is subtracted from the background ozone concentration. The ozone concentration percentage shall not exceed 5×10⁻⁶.

Note: If the installation instructions specify that the air purifier is to be installed in a room with a volume exceeding 30m³, the test room dimensions shall be increased accordingly.

2 Technical Parameters and Functional Implementation

2.1 Equipment Composition

The Ozone + Carbon Monoxide Detection Sealed Room is suitable for testing the ozone concentration of air purifiers installed in rooms with a volume not exceeding 30m³. The system consists of an ozone concentration collection system and an ozone concentration tester.

This system does not include: the adjustable variable-frequency regulated power supply and electrical parameter meter required for the operation of the air purifier.
