CADR and CCM Air Purifier Test Chamber





This test bench is primarily used to simulate and detect pollutant removal tests for air purifiers.

The test bench mainly consists of a laboratory, clean air intake, exhaust system, and sample injection device.

Main Components of the Test Bench

Laboratory Composition: Test chamber, fluorescent lamps, ceiling fan, test rack, power sockets, etc.;

Dimensions: V=1400W * 1500H * 1400L ≈3m³;

Leakage Rate: <0.05;

Material: 10mm tempered glass, stainless steel inner walls, observation window equipped with sampling and injection ports;

Equipment Installation: 1. Top air intake, bottom exhaust on the side;

2. Installation of a sealed chamber door;

3. Reserved sampling ports and injection ports (3+3);

4. One ceiling fan and two 40W fluorescent lamps installed on the top;

Installation Process: All connecting parts are sealed using silicone rubber strips and glass silicone to ensure the airtightness of the laboratory. 

The entire equipment is designed to be detachable.



Air Intake and Exhaust Device

Equipment Composition: Circulation fan, ducts, medium-efficiency filter, high-efficiency filter;

Fan (Technical Parameters): Air intake/exhaust fan

Material: Circulation ducts are made of stainless steel;

Equipment Installation: Air filtration system added to the intake/exhaust sections;

Installation Process: All connecting parts of the ducts are sealed using sealing strips and glass silicone. Detachable parts are installed with silicone rubber strips and bolts for tight fastening. Schematic Diagram

Natural Decay Test Procedure:

1) Place the air purifier to be tested on the test rack in the center of the laboratory (except for vertical air purifiers). Adjust the air purifier to working condition, check if it operates normally, then turn it off;

2) Set up the sampling points, avoiding air intake and exhaust vents, with a distance of 0.5m from the walls and a height of 0.5~1.5m relative to the laboratory floor. One or multiple sampling heads can be installed at the same sampling point and connected to external sampling tubes;

Close the exhaust duct damper, open the internal circulation duct damper, start the auxiliary fan, and use the high-efficiency filter to purify the air in the laboratory, ensuring that particles with a diameter of 0.3μm or larger

3) have a background concentration less than one-thousandth of the initial detection concentration. Simultaneously, monitor the air temperature and humidity in the laboratory;

4) Once the particulate background concentration drops to an appropriate level, record the current particulate background concentration. Turn off the circulation fan and high-efficiency filter, start the household ceiling fan, and use the sample injection device to introduce smoke pollutants into the laboratory, ensuring the pollutants enter the air vortex generated by the fan stirring. Stir for 10 minutes, and after the pollutants are evenly mixed, turn off the household ceiling fan;

5) After the ceiling fan completely stops, use a laser particle counter to measure the pollutant concentration. Typically, at the start of the test, the particle concentration for particles 0.3μm or larger is around 2,000,000 particles/L.

This value at the test point serves as the initial concentration in the laboratory;

6) After measuring the initial concentration, begin the detection test. During the test, collect pollutant concentration data every 2 minutes, continuously measuring for 20 minutes. At least 9 data points must have concentrations greater than twice the instrument's detection limit;

7) Record the laboratory temperature and humidity during the test;

8) Based on the measured data, calculate the natural decay constant Kn;
