EN 60335-2-116 Lift Table Obstacle Retreat Test

The obstacle retreat test for lift tables primarily aims to ensure that the table can promptly stop and retreat a certain distance upon encountering an obstacle, thereby preventing damage to the table, the obstacle, or causing personal injury. The testing method typically involves simulating various resistances during the table's ascent and descent, observing whether the stopping and retreating actions function correctly, and recording relevant mechanical data.

This test is designed to verify whether the lift table can detect resistance through built-in sensors and trigger the retreat mechanism when encountering obstacles during operation, thus avoiding harm to people or objects.

Specialized testing instruments, such as devices with force sensing and data acquisition capabilities, are required to simulate obstacles.

The measuring device can measure the dynamic and static forces at the closing edge of doors and gates, as well as the duration of force application. It meets all requirements of EN 12453, ensuring complete testing and recording of the system's force limitation capability according to EN 12453, as well as standard-compliant quality assurance for door production in accordance with EN 13849-1. It also fully satisfies the DIN EN 16005 standard for automatic doors. The compact and portable device immediately displays the complete force-time curve on the integrated graphical display after the five-second measurement period and combines three consecutive individual measurements into an average value for a measurement point based on standard specifications in the background. The large-capacity data memory can store 500 complete individual measurements or 166 complete standard measurements.

The force gauge is used for routine on-site inspections of gate closing forces, such as after the installation of new gates or during annual routine checks of existing gates, with results recorded in each gate's inspection log. Measurement values can be transferred to a laptop or desktop computer via the built-in USB interface. Using the software, precise analysis of measurement values and any target deviations can be performed. The required software can be ordered as an accessory. The core component includes an LCD display that shows all measurement values, force curves, measurement value storage management functions, and a user guide.

Each measurement determines the following four values to evaluate the closing force according to the standard.
