Ultra-High Sensitivity and Extremely Low Noise Optical Receiver
The FWPR-20 series optical receiver combines low-noise Si or InGaAs photodiodes with a specially designed transimpedance amplifier that features extremely high gain up to 10^12 V/A and very low noise. This unique combination enables femtowatt-level sensitivity, thanks to its exceptionally low NEP of just 0.7 fW/√Hz. It can directly detect optical power as low as approximately 50 fW, and when combined with the optional FEMTO lock-in amplifier, even sub-femtowatt sensitivity can be achieved.
Replace Expensive PMTs or LN2-Cooled Infrared Detectors
The FEMTO FWPR-20 series optical receiver offers extremely high sensitivity, making it suitable to replace PMTs and cooled Ge photodiodes in various applications. There is no need for expensive high-voltage power supplies or cooling systems.
The FWPR-20-SI achieves high quantum efficiency similar to single-photon counting modules in the visible and near-infrared range. In applications with less stringent timing requirements, such as when the signal integration time of photon counters extends to tens of milliseconds or longer, the FWPR-20-SI optical receiver can achieve comparable signal-to-noise ratios.
For near-infrared spectral analysis, the InGaAs model FWPR-20-IN delivers results similar to those of much more expensive and complex systems based on liquid nitrogen-cooled germanium detectors and external amplifiers. Thanks to the integrated ultra-low noise, high-gain amplifier, the FWPR-20 series femtowatt optical receiver provides volt-level signals directly at the output.
