The FEMTO FWPR-20-SI is a femtowatt-level optical receiver operating at wavelengths from 320 to 1100 nm. It consists of a combination of a Si PIN photodiode and a transimpedance amplifier. The transimpedance amplifier provides high gain up to 10^12 V/A with extremely low noise of 0.7 fW/√Hz. This optical receiver can be used for direct detection of optical power up to 50 femtowatts (fW) and offers high sensitivity. It requires a 15 V DC power supply and consumes up to 15 mA of current. The optical receiver exhibits high quantum efficiency in the visible and near-infrared regions. Due to its high sensitivity, it can replace APDs (avalanche photodiodes), photomultiplier tubes (PMTs), and liquid nitrogen-cooled germanium photodiodes in applications where cooling and high-power supplies are not feasible.
The FWPR-20-SI comes in a nickel-plated module with dimensions of 84.0 x 51.0 x 27.3 mm and is equipped with a BNC female connector. It is ideal for applications such as fluorescence measurement, spectral analysis, electrophoresis, and chromatography.
