9.1.3 Enclosure Openings

The design of the equipment shall ensure that suspended foreign objects do not become hazardous live parts when entering ventilation openings or other apertures.

Compliance is checked by inserting a metal test probe with a diameter of 4mm and a length of 100mm into the opening. The test probe is inserted freely with one end suspended, and the insertion depth shall not exceed its length.

The test probe shall not become a hazardous live part.
