Description
Additional Information

Product Description:
1. Manufactured in accordance with the relevant clauses of UL476, UL1026, and UL507.
2. The UL test finger is an essential tool for conducting electric shock protection tests for household and similar electrical appliances.

Test Probe Pin
I. Overview:

The standard test finger, test pin, and test probe are devices specified in various electrical safety standards for electric shock protection tests. They are used to test whether the structure and enclosure of electrical products provide adequate protection against electric shock, ensuring no accidental contact with live parts during use.

II. Appearance and Structure:

The structures of the test finger, test pin, and test probe are shown in Figure 1, Figure 2, and Figure 3, respectively.

III. Precautions and Usage:

3.1. To prevent hazards from accidental contact with live parts, the appliance's enclosure must not have openings leading to live parts except those necessary for operation. For Class II appliances, openings leading to basic insulation or metal parts separated only by basic insulation from live parts are prohibited.

3.2. Openings or gaps in Class 0 and Class II appliances, and openings or gaps in Class 0I and Class I appliances (excluding those on metal parts for connecting grounding terminals and earth contacts, and openings for live parts in lamp holders or sockets) shall be tested using the test pin shown in Figure 2. The test finger and test pin should be used to inspect every possible position without applying excessive force.

3.3. For openings that the test finger cannot enter, a straight, jointless test probe of the same dimensions as the test finger shall be used with a force of 20N (using a push-pull gauge). If the probe can enter, retest with the test finger shown in Figure 1 to pass through the opening. If the probe cannot enter, increase the force to 30N. If the protective device shifts or the opening deforms such that the test finger shown in Figure 1 can be inserted without force, retest with the test finger from Figure 1 while using an electric shock indicator to detect contact. The test finger must not touch exposed live parts or live parts protected only by paint, enamel, ordinary paper, cotton fabric, oxide film, insulating beads, or sealing compound. Additionally, when testing the above openings with the test pin, the test pin must not touch exposed live parts. For Class II appliances, the test finger shown in Figure 1 must not touch metal parts separated from live parts only by basic insulation.

3.4. Except for Class II appliances, for live parts of visible glowing heating elements and their supporting parts, where all poles can be disconnected by a single switch operation, and these parts are clearly visible from outside the appliance without disassembling the cover, the test probe shown in Figure 3 shall be used instead of the test finger. Do not apply excessive force during testing, and the test probe must not touch live parts.

3.5. The standard test finger shall be designed such that each joint can only rotate 90 degrees in the same direction relative to the central axis of the test finger.

3.6. It is recommended to use a lamp to indicate contact, with a filament voltage not less than 40V.
